INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Female Footballers is a nonprofit organization that aims to educate and empower youth athletes through mental performance training, emotional intelligence development, and leadership development sessions. We are a mission-driven organization dedicated to the development of athletes as players and people, allowing them to build skills well beyond sports.

Female Footballers is seeking three motivated and self-starting team players to join our team in Spring 2025! We are currently seeking candidates to support our Digital Marketing, Business Operations, and Business Development efforts. We encourage you to apply by October 25, 2024.

Business Operations Intern

The Business Operations Internship is a unique experience that exposes individuals to the core business functions of a nonprofit. This role will support the daily functions of our organization, including but not limited to project management, customer service and support, and developing/maintaining internal processes. The internship offers broad exposure to multiple business functions.

 The Role

  • Support the Chief Operating Officer with coordinating and tracking project timelines and deliverables.

  • Mentorship Program Management: Intern will be responsible for managing program logistics and communication with athlete mentors during the Winter 2025 Mentorship Program.

  • Customer Service Relations: Monitor inbound communication to the organization and scheduling client/partner meetings.  

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes to enhance efficiency.

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Highly organized and self-motivated candidate with a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines across business functions.   

  • Tech savvy with an advanced knowledge of G-Suite, Excel, and Slack.  

  • Excited to learn about the business of building and scaling an organization.

  • Preference for candidates with previous work experience and/or coursework in operations, project management, accounting, or economics.

  • Participate in leadership team meetings and contribute fresh perspectives to ongoing projects.

Timeline and Hours  

  • January – April 2025.

  • This is a remote position.

  • Intern is available to work 10 hours per week.

  • Volunteer Internship but can be used for Course Credit. 

Business Development Intern

Female Footballers is seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to join our team and support the business growth of our organization—particularly for the growth of our team session business. The role primarily focuses on project development and lead generation with youth and college soccer clubs across the United States. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn, excited to work on real-world business challenges and want to be part of a mission-driven organization.

The Role

  • Assist with building pitch materials for prospective client outreach and client meetings, including but not limited to email drafting, promotional materials, and Canva decks.

  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and ideate on potential business opportunities and threats.

  • Identify and contact relevant club contacts for sales outreach.

  • Communicate with prospective clients about our mission, programs, and answer questions to secure team session contracts.

  • Report on current program performance by analyzing data sets, identifying trends, and drawing actionable conclusions to drive decision making.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to think creatively and execute on ideas to completion.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Adaptable to changing business environments, including an ability to adjust and pivot on strategy as business needs change.

  • Proactive approach to generating ideas and working on projects.

  • Ability to interact professionally and confidently with various stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners.

  • A candidate interested in sports and mental health.

Timeline and Hours  

  • January – April 2025.

  • This is a remote position.

  • Intern is available to work 10 hours per week.

  • Intern will receive 10% commission on each contract secured through the intern’s lead generation.

Digital Marketing Intern

Female Footballers is seeking a creative and passionate intern to support our digital marketing, social media, and podcast production. Female Footballers is a non-profit organization supporting female-identifying soccer players through mental skills training, leadership development, and mentorship. Our mission is to provide meaningful educational resources for players, parents, and coaches — and media one of our primary channels for accomplishing this goal.

The Role

  • Lead social media marketing campaigns through content creation across platforms.

  • Share creative and innovative ideas for marketing communications including newsletters, blogs, event messaging, and educational resources.

  • Support the leadership team to drive our social media presence.

  • Monitor social media performance and trends to drive content plan and strategy.

  • Play an active role in podcast production, from securing guests to post-production efforts.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A collaborative team player eager to bring new ideas.

  • A problem-solving attitude with creativity, emphasizing accuracy and detail orientation in all tasks.

  • Desire to learn and high level of resourcefulness and initiative.

  • Strong “social media” IQ, along with a firm visual/creative point of view.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Canva and iMovie (or equivalent).

  • A candidate interested in sports and mental health.

  • Preference for candidates with experience in marketing and/or social media.
